Community Activities

Food Club

Food Club is for those living in Darwen who need support and help with their weekly food needs. Club members contribute a small amount of money each week and get a big bag of food in return. No referral needed. Please come at 10.30 on Saturday mornings.

Activities

Many but not all of our community activities are held at 15-19 Ash Grove at our centre.

Monday

10 am Brew and Movement
1 pm Chatty Crafters

Wednesday

10 am Bingo and a Brew

Thursday

1st and 3rd Thursdays
12-2 pm Mental Health Group

Friday

10 am – 12 pm
Gardening group

Saturday

10.30 – 11.30 Food Club

But there is more. We often have community meals, cooking lessons, visits from health professionals and energy advice.

Our Church

For hundreds of years St James’ has been central and sustaining for the people of Over Darwen. Thank to our partners at the National Lottery Heritage Fund we are exploring our heritage in depth at the moment as we prepare for extensive renovations. It is an exciting time and our church community is rising to the challenge to be even more of a blessing to Over Darwen.
